Q. Why should we do business with Arks?
A. Because building churches is all we do and we are very good at it. Because we understand the church culture and are happy to work with the church. Because we generate savings that result in additional square footage. Because our goals are your goals – we want you to have a facility in which you can do the Lord’s work.
Q. How can you manage our project when you are located in North Carolina?
A. This is done all the time in the construction industry. While our central office is in NC, we will work with local sub-contractors from your area. Key engineering support will also be hired from your area. There will also be a project manager and a site superintendent assigned to your project who will visit your project regularly. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, we may place a site superintendent full time at your project.
Q. How is it you think you can build our project less expensively than other general contractors?
A. We have many ways to save you money: We have developed national purchasing agreements that result in substantial cost savings. We take a lower profit than do many other firms. We value engineer all projects so that we achieve design and functionality objectives at the lowest possible cost. We work very closely with the church to design and build based on exactly what the church needs and can afford – we don’t over design or design something the church cannot afford. We watch the pennies because we know they add up to dollars.
Q. How much does Arks charge per square foot?
A. Although we would love to be able to answer this question, to be honest this is an impossible question to answer until we know more about your needs. Our cost to you is primarily a function of design. We value engineer from the start to insure the best possible stewardship. Before we answer this question we will sit down with you to determine your needs. Then we will start giving you cost estimates. You will not find a company that works harder to keep your costs down than Arks.
Q. What does Design-Build mean?
A. Design build is a construction project management system whereby the church hires the general contractor, architect and engineers as one team, under one contract. This has become the preferred system for most commercial projects and is the best one for controlling costs and time.
Q. How long will it take to get into our new building?
A. Again, this is a very hard question to answer without knowing more about your needs. This is also based in large part on how fast the church raises money, answers questions, gets us required documentation. Lastly we are at the mercy of local building authorities and the weather. Actual construction time, once we break ground is usually 6-8 months.
